The astute owner of the current edition of The Forked Tongue will have noticed that there are markings identifying it as “TF08SE”. That version was created for sale and distribution at the 2008 TES Fest event in New Jersey. There Flagg signed copies, met readers and launched the book.

Even at that time conversations with Flagg left open the idea of TFT being an evolving work with future editions a possibility. Sadly, the opportunity never arose for Flagg to expand on the book itself before his passing.

Almost 7 years later it was clear a Kindle / eBook version was long overdue. It was clear that the work deserved better than a simple quick and dirty auto-conversion. The decision was made to entirely rebuild the layout for both print and eBook taking advantage of updated typography and tools.

New Content

Once the commitment was made to layout a new version of the print book we asked ourselves how we could improve the new edition aside from updated typography?

Significantly altering the core text was out of the question. The book now stands as a classic and there was no desire to alter it other than the mall grammar / spelling fixes that Flagg himself had desired to do someday. Similarly we did not want to add content from others about the main topic of the book itself.

From Flagg

What we do have is a wealth of other content from Flagg on these topics. The obvious additions turned out to be a series of audio recordings that initially appeared on the Power in Practice podcast. They were transcribed and added to the book, expanding it by about 60 pages.
